As fate would have it, he encounters a resourceful young man known as Ringo Poon, through whom he sees a younger version of himself. Cheuk Gwan Lam develops a familial attachment towards Ringo. The young man also wins the favor of Cheuk’s secretary Rachel Chan, who believes that Ringo would lead the company, Endless Beauty, to success. Rachel, still mourning over the disappearance of her husband Vincent many years ago, drowns herself with work. Endless Beauty, as well as Cheuk Gwan Lam himself, becomes her sole purpose in life. Ringo exploits the trust Rachel has in him, also winning Cheuk Gwan Lam’s approval. Little do they know that Ringo is actually secretly conspiring with a team of talented people on the sly to steal trade secrets from large corporations for money. Ringo has been planning this for years, seeking the best opportunity to take destructive revenge on Endless Beauty.
Ringo takes his bike from the moving truck and informs the movers to help him move the rest of the boxes up to his new apartment. When he turns back, a little kid is playing with his bike.
He introduces the little boy to Woody, his bike. An auntie comes out and scolds the little boy for playing with Ringo’s bike. She introduces herself as Laura. Then the little boy introduces himself as Mr. Hong. Rachel comes out and is shocked to find out that Ringo is her new neighbor. She rushes Mr. Hong and Laura to leave.
When Rachel and her son returns, they find out that they live right next to Ringo. Rachel is peeved.
At work, Cheuk Gwan Lam is having a meeting with Mani, Ringo, and Rachel about how to advertise their latest product. Mani has thought of the whole marketing plan and very excitedly shares it. Ringo laughs and shares his own idea. It’s the complete opposite of Mani’s ideas. Cheuk Gwan Lam tells the two of them to write up their proposals and hand it to him for him to decide.
Rachel overhears two of Mani’s team members talking about the workload they have and their fears of taking even a small break least they face the She-Devil’s (Mani) wrath. Rachel asks Mani to meet her at the garden roof. She tells her to loosen up and go easy on her team members instead of pushing them to the limit all the time.
The clock hits 6 o’clock and Ringo tells his team members to leave. The other team watches them go enviously. They force one of them to approach Mani. Mani tells them they need to finish the proposal tonight. She’s ordered take out for them so they should take a break before continuing to work.
Cheuk Gwan Lam and Rachel are at a dance charity function. Chin Wing Tong is there too and he has a flashy entrance. Everyone is enamored by his outfit and dance partner. He goes to the DJ and gives him the CD for performance later.
Ringo approaches Rachel and she asks why he’s there. He teases her about seeing food and deciding to crash the party. She threatens to call the cops on him and he tells her it’s a joke. Anyone who donates gets an invite.
Soon the MC comes on stage and thanks everyone for their donations. She invites Chin Wing Tong to do the first dance. When the music goes on, it’s the wrong music. He looks at Cheuk Gwan Lam and realizes the other switched his CD. Chin Wing Tong dances anyways and ends up falling to the floor and embarrassing himself. He rushes out of there. Cheuk Gwan Lam and Rachel come out next to dance and put on a nice performance.
After the event, as they’re leaving Ringo comes up and greets Cheuk Gwan Lam. After a brief chat, he leaves first on his bike. The way Ringo rings the bell on his bike captures Cheuk Gwan Lam’s attention.
Cheuk Gwan Lam returns home and chides Mani for working too much. He asks her if she has seen her boyfriend yet since she’s returned to Hong Kong. She admits that she’s been busy and forgot and promises to make time to meet up with her boyfriend soon.
Ah Sang (Cheuk Gwan Lam’s driver) comes in and gives him a document he left in his car. Cheuk Gwan Lam asks him about some internet famous girl Gigi, whom Mani wants to be their representative. He asks Ah Sang to look into her background and report back to him.
Mani goes to see Gigi at her photoshoot. After a long wait, Mani speaks to Gigi and asks her to be their representative. Gigi of course agrees and tells Mani to go talk to her manager about the details.
Chin Wing Tong appears at the studio too. He tells Mani that he’s already talked it over with Gigi’s boss – Gigi is going to be their representative. After Chin Wing Tong leaves, Mani becomes a little worried.
Mr. Hong is at Laura’s workshop doing his homework. He gets sassy with her so she starts tickling him until Rachel appears and stops them. Laura badgers Rachel about Ringo and Rachel chides her for putting ideas into her son’s head. Since Rachel has no interest in the younger man, Laura tells her to give him to her.
Rachel and Mr. Hong gets home but Rachel can’t find her keys. Mr. Hong chides her for not putting it where it’s supposed to be in her bag.
Ringo returns and Mr. Hong is enamored with his bike. Ringo offers to teach him how to ride a bike but Rachel quickly forbids him from learning because it’s dangerous. She finds her keys and calls him back to go home.
Inside, Mr. Hong goes to change his clothes. The doorbell rings and Ringo is on the other side. He asks to borrow some sugar and has to coax Rachel to share some with him. He enters her house and sees how messy and dirty it is. Mr. Hong comes out and greets Ringo.
Rachel gives Ringo the container with a blue cap and Mr. Hong scolds her for giving Ringo the salt. She goes and gets the correct container for sugar and gives both to Ringo. Ringo comes out of the kitchen and sees Mr. Hong folding clothes. He tells the kid that there are child labor laws and if he takes his mother to court, he’ll be his witness. Rachel shoves Ringo out of her house while Mr. Hong laughs.
In Ringo’s house, he’s looking up news articles and videos of the disappearance of Rachel’s husband – Vincent.
The next day Mani receives a call from one of Gigi’s managers saying that Gigi can’t be their representative. Mani gets pissed. Rachel tries to calm the employees down by giving them money for lunch. Then she comforts Mani and reminds her of the dinner she has with her father later that night.
Howard, Mani’s boyfriend, joins the father-daughter duo for dinner. Chin Wing Tong also appears at the restaurant and boasts about his deal with Gigi. Cheuk Gwan Lam is offered a nice bottle of wine by the waiter that Chin Wing Tong wants it too. Since it’s the only bottle, Cheuk Gwan Lam gives it to Chin Wing Tong.
Chin Wing Tong’s assistant receives a phone call from Gigi’s manager. They won’t be able to make it to dinner. Apparently news of Gigi’s dirty past blew up on the internet.
Cheuk Gwan Lam tells Mani that in business, they need to look a head clearly before doing anything.
Chin Wing Tong gets angry and leaves in a huff. Cheuk Gwan Lam takes back the bottle of wine and the three of them have an enjoyable dinner.
Cyrus receives a message from his friend to go see him. His friend asks him for a favor. When he got into an accident all those years ago, his father sold everything they could to pay for his medical fees, including a certificate for unregistered bonds. In their desperation for money, his family was cheated out of the value and he wants Cyrus to help him get it back.
Cyrus is on his way back in the taxi when some honking from a car triggers a flashback of a car accident. He demands for the taxi to stop and he quickly scrambles out, hyperventilating.
At their warehouse base, Cyrus brings up this new job. Since Ringo is busy with his work at Endless Beauty, Cyrus is taking charge of this project. Everyone is in.
Since they don’t know where the certificate of the bonds are, they’re first going to search this guy’s house and office and then go from there.
The plan starts when the target, Siu Yiu, is working out at the gym. Yan Yan bumps into him and swipes his card key. Turtle picks it up and enters his house. He searched everywhere but wasn’t able to find anything.
Amber is sent to the university to pose as a student to lure Siu Yiu out of his office. Once gone, she enters and searches his drawers. She finds a key for a safe deposit box and takes a picture of it. She returns to their base of operations and 3D prints a copy of the key. Cyrus is practicing how Siu Yiu signs his name. He plans to pretend to be Siu Yiu and go to the bank to see what’s in the safe deposit box.
At the bank, he passes all their identification processes and is walked to the room where the safes are. A banker comes out and greets him. Thinking he’s really Siu Yiu, she asks him for the phone number of the doctor he gave her last time since she lost it. Cyrus freezes up.
Just then Ringo appears and acts like he’s been looking for Siu Yiu.
Cyrus returns to his friend’s house and passes him an envelop. Inside is a check for HK $1 million. He apologizes and says he can’t help him. His friend gets angry. Ringo enters the apartment and exposes everything. The certificate of bonds were originally Siu Yiu’s. Him and Siu Yiu are friends so that’s how he knew the story. He’s been eyeing the bonds all this time and wanted to trick Cyrus into helping him steal it.
Cyrus is disappointed in how his friend turned out but his friend blames him. He wouldn’t be stuck in a wheelchair if it wasn’t for Cyrus. He tells them to scram. Ringo tells him they’re leaving but from here on out, Cyrus isn’t his friend anymore.
Ringo and Cyrus go up to the roof top and talk. Ringo tells him how he found out about Cyrus’s friend’s relationship with Siu Yiu after following Siu Yiu around. Cyrus has been feeling guilty about his friend’s wheelchair-bound life ever since the car accident he caused. And his friend used this guilt against him. Ringo things Cyrus has done enough over the past eight years to make up for his wrong. Cyrus thanks him.
I really like when they do their “jobs”. The sneakiness and cleverness of their plans is so intriguing and fun to watch! I hope we get to see more heists in the future!
Also, have I mentioned how much I love the little kid Mr. Hong? He’s so freaking sassy and such a smart ass. I love him! He’s so adorable!! Raising a kid like that must be hell but so amusing at the same time.
