After the deaths of his first and second wife, cosmetic mogul Cheuk Gwan Lam tries to turn over a new leaf. As fate would have it, he encounters a resourceful young man known as Ringo Poon, through whom he sees a younger version of himself. Cheuk Gwan Lam develops a familial attachment towards Ringo. The young man also wins the favor of Cheuk’s secretary Rachel Chan, who believes that Ringo would lead the company, Endless Beauty, to success. Rachel, still mourning over the disappearance of her husband Vincent many years ago, drowns herself with work. Endless Beauty, as well as Cheuk Gwan Lam himself, becomes her sole purpose in life. Ringo exploits the trust Rachel has in him, also winning Cheuk Gwan Lam’s approval. Little do they know that Ringo is actually secretly conspiring with a team of talented people on the sly to steal trade secrets from large corporations for money. Ringo has been planning this for years, seeking the best opportunity to take destructive revenge on Endless Beauty.
Amber introduces herself as someone who is rich enough to never have to work in her life. So her life goals is to be pretty and she’s willing to try any and all products that could help her achieve her goal.
After the interviews, Cheuk Gwan Lam chooses Amber as their final tester. Rachel doesn’t think she’s a fit because of her haughty personality. But Mani and her father want Amber precisely because of her personality. And also because if she likes the product, they’ll be able to tap into the rich-women-with-nothing-better-to-do-but-to-spend-money market.
The final 8 women are selected and they’re given a confidentiality contract to sign. After they’ve finished signing, they’re free to leave. Mani asks Amber to stay behind. She asks about Cyrus and Amber tells her that she and Cyrus are very good friends before excusing herself.
At the warehouse, she tells the team about the conversation she had with Mani. Cyrus gets mad because they’re not really friends and doesn’t want her going around advertising it. Amber doesn’t think it’s big deal; it wouldn’t reveal her true identity.
Yan Yan interrupts them with an obnoxious laugh. She goes on to explain that she’s laughing because of her comic book. The girl in the story likes the guy but doesn’t tell him so she goes around scaring off all the other women around the guy.
Turtle thinks she’s talking too much and stuffs a bread in her mouth to shut her up. Turtle thinks Mani may be developing some feelings for Cyrus and teases him for it. Cyrus hates playing with other people’s feelings and refuses to stoop so low. He shoves Turtle off of him.
Ringo decides to leave the Mani issue for later. He tells Amber getting into the testing group is the first step. From here on out, she’ll have to be super careful.
Laura tries to bail out when Rachel is done making dinner. Rachel is upset and tells her friend that her cooking skills have improved. Laura tries the food and is surprise that it’s actually good. She praises Ringo for doing the impossible.
Mr. Hong comes out and wonders out loud why Ringo isn’t picking up his phone. He’s looking for the older man to help him make an airplane. Rachel tells her son not to bother the other and that she can help him instead.
At work the next day, Rachel is researching how to make airplanes but doesn’t understand anything. Cheuk Gwan Lam walks by and sees what she’s doing and offers to help her since it’s easy stuff for him. After work they go over to Rachel’s house with the necessary supplies.
Mr. Hong returns at the same time with Laura and Ringo. Mr. Hong tells his mom that Ringo knows how to make a lot of airplanes and she chides her son for bothering the other man. Mr. Hong tells her it wasn’t his fault. Laura wanted to talk to Ringo so she used him as an excuse. Rachel feels a little embarrassed for bothering Cheuk Gwan Lam but he doesn’t mind and wants to learn from Ringo too.
Cheuk Gwan Lam is patiently outlining and explaining the airplane components to Rachel when they’re interrupted by Mr. Hong’s cheering. He’s playing with Ringo and Laura. Ringo made a battery continuously moving around through copper coils. Rachel goes over to them and chides Ringo for not being serious about Mr. Hong’s airplane assignment. He assures her he can make an airplane in a few minutes.
After hearing this, Cheuk Gwan Lam is impressed. Ringo then proposes a competition between the two of them – who can make an airplane that flies the furthest. Cheuk Gwan Lam accepts.
Later that night, Mr. Hong is still playing with the copper coil battery. He excitedly tells Rachel that Ringo reminds him of his father, teaching him new stuff. Rachel gets sentimental and remembers the memory Mr. Hong is talking about.
Cheuk Gwan Lam is practicing throwing different styles of airplanes at home to see which one can fly the furthest in preparation for the competition against Ringo tomorrow.
The next day, Mr. Hong tells Ringo he has to win. Ringo himself is confident that he’ll win but Rachel is a little worried about him. She thinks he’ll be out of a job because of this small competition. Ringo jokes that she’ll just have to take care of him if he loses his job. Rachel is taken aback and Ringo clarifies since he and Mr. Hong are such good friends, she can hire him to take care of Mr. Hong. Rachel wouldn’t hire him even if he wanted to work for free.
Cheuk Gwan Lam arrives and they start the competition. He shoots his airplane with a crossbow and Ringo launches his with some sort of gas. Ringo ends up winning and he goes to teach Mr. Hong how to launch the airplane.
Laura then tells the three of them – Ringo, Mr. Hong, and Rachel to take a picture together. Cheuk Gwan Lam just sullenly watches them.
At the end of the day Cheuk Gwan Lam takes Rachel and Mr. Hong home while Ringo and Laura go ride bicycles back.
On the ride back, they comment on how much fun Mr. Hong had today. Rachel thinks she’s been doing a poor job as a mother. Her son acts like a grown up and even tries to take care of her. He never says it but she can see when he gets envious of his classmates’ fathers. She hopes her husband would come back soon.
Rachel has a flashback about receiving news from the police that they found her husband’s fishing gear. They suspect he fell in the ocean. She doesn’t believe anything happened to her husband.
He’s been gone for three years but she believes that he’ll definitely return. On the other hand, she’s not sure how to explain to Mr. Hong if her husband never comes back. She doesn’t know what to do. Cheuk Gwan Lam tells her not to think too much.
At the start of the product testing, Mani explains the rules and process to their testers. The process would take about two weeks and each person would have their own personal technician to assist with their testing.
Amber is led into a room where the testing would be done. She spots the product on a small table near her and reaches for it but the technician explains that only the technicians could touch the product.
First they take a picture of her facial skin and do some initial analysis. Then they apply the product on her face with a brush. Right afterwards, Amber tells her technician that she has a stomachache and goes to use the bathroom.
Inside, she quickly grabs some toilet paper and tries to wipe the product off her face but is shocked that it has absorbed into her skin already. Amber has to think of another way.
After a week Amber reports back to Ringo that she’s tried everything but she couldn’t get her hands on the sample. Ringo seems lost in through and Cyrus has to prod him to get him to respond. This causes him to spill some coffee on to his laptop keyboard. He pulls the silicon off the keyboard and quickly wipes it up. Looking at the silicon, he gets an idea.
After finishing with the testing for the day, Amber gets into her van and finds out Cyrus is her driver for that day. She asks him to go grab a drink with her. He sees Mani get into an altercation with Howard and tells Amber go herself while he rushes to Mani’s aid.
Howard is pissed drunk is blames Mani for everything he’s lost. Cyrus pulls him away and warns him to act properly. Howard picks a fight with him and gets his ass handed to him. After losing the scuffle, he decides to leave.
Amber gets pissed seeing this. She gets into the driver’s seat and drives away.
Mani notices Cyrus has a small cut on his hand and immediately tends to it. She starts laughing to herself, causing Cyrus to ask her what’s so funny. She tells him she’s heard if a man’s hand is cold, that means he was an angel in his past life. She used to never believe it, but now she does. Every time she’s in trouble, Cyrus appears to save her – as if he was her guardian angel. Cyrus tells her to stop reading so much romance books.
Later that night, Amber gets pissed drunk and calls Cyrus to come pick her up. He arrives at the bar but she’s reluctant to leave so he picks her up bridal style. He brings her home and dumps her on her bed. Just as he’s about to leave, she pulls him back on to the bed and hugs him tight. She tells him not to leave before falling asleep.
After a while, Cyrus gets up and sits next to her, holding her hand.
Amber wakes up the next morning and smiles when she sees her heels placed neatly next to a pair of slippers at the edge of her bed. Then she receives a text message from Ringo that everything’s ready.
She goes in for the testing and fakes a stomachache again after the product is smoothed onto her skin. Inside the bathroom, she pulls off this clear silicon-like skin off her face.
After she leaves, the technician finds today’s results for Amber a bit questionable because it’s the same as yesterday. Her co-worker tells her to mark it down and tell David later.
Ringo returns to the warehouse and asks Turtle for the lab report on the 797M sample they got. They’ve figured out the composition and ingredients of the product. Now all they need to do is find out where it’s being manufactured.
According to the project reports, Ringo thinks the warehouse is in Italy. David is the only one who can connect to the people in Italy so they need to come up with a situation to force David to make a call to the manufacturing plant. Then from there, Yan Yan can trace the exact location of the call.
Turtle is in sitting in a cafe where David is at. After Yan Yan puts up a fake article about Italy’s water source being contaminated, Turtle and the actress at his table start discussing about it loudly. David sees the article himself and quickly leaves the cafe to return to his office.
Yan Yan and Cyrus sneak into the server room and Yan Yan gets to work on tracing the call.
David speaks with the people in Italy and finds out that everything is okay.
Cyrus sees a security guard approaching and rushes Yan Yan. She asks for a little bit more time but they can’t wait anymore and he pulls her out of there.
In the car, Cyrus gets frustrated because after all that work, they couldn’t get the location. Yan Yan actually proves him wrong. She got the location. She just needed a little bit more time to hack into their system and screw up their formula – then everything would have been done with.
Mani reports to Cheuk Gwan Lam that their testing was successful and all their testers were very impressed with their product. Rachel enters after Mani leaves and tells him that she and Ringo are going to go have a meeting with a future collaborator.
After the meeting, Rachel and Ringo walk into an open plaza area. While Rachel is on the phone, Ringo sees a couple taking wedding photos and he has flashes of Rachel in a wedding dress looking lost and confused. After her phone call ended, he turns to her and asks her if she remembers this place. She’s just listing random things.
Ringo gives up and reminds her of her promise to treat him to a meal after winning the airplane competition. Rachel tells him that will be for next time. She hands him a water bottle first and takes off. Ringo stares at it and remembers the first time he met Rachel.
He’s a young boy who just slid down the side of a mountain when Rachel was riding by. She helped him and offered him water. When she asks about his parents, he tells her that they don’t want him anymore. He got kidnapped and waited for them to come rescue him but they never came. She comforts him and tells the younger Ringo that his parents must be really anxiously looking for him – it’s just that they haven’t found him yet.
There’s a time skip to when Ringo is older. He’s performing in a public performance about marriage. In his costume and make up, he sees Rachel in her wedding dress running into the plaza looking lost and confused. He goes to her and proposes to her. She asks him if marriage is really forever. He tells her that she has to trust that Fate knows what they’re doing. Rachel looks like she’s hit with a sudden realization and runs away. The crowd thinks this is part of the performance and claps.
That night, Ringo is in bed hugging the water bottle. He realizes that Rachel doesn’t recognize him at all. Meanwhile Rachel is looking through her wedding photos and reminiscing that day. She wasn’t sure about getting married and was thinking of running away. But she ran into a person that talked some sense into her.
Flash back to Rachel anxiously looking for a taxi in her wedding dress. Ringo drives up in his car and offers to give her a ride to where she needs to be. He assures her that they’ll get to the church in no time.
Rachel tells herself that if she ever meets that person again, she wants to tell them thank you.
I find it both weird and cute how everyone just meows, barks, and growls when communicating with Yan Yan. It’s so strange yet amusing at the same time lol.
