After the deaths of his first and second wife, cosmetic mogul Cheuk Gwan Lam tries to turn over a new leaf. As fate would have it, he encounters a resourceful young man known as Ringo Poon, through whom he sees a younger version of himself. Cheuk Gwan Lam develops a familial attachment towards Ringo. The young man also wins the favor of Cheuk’s secretary Rachel Chan, who believes that Ringo would lead the company, Endless Beauty, to success. Rachel, still mourning over the disappearance of her husband Vincent many years ago, drowns herself with work. Endless Beauty, as well as Cheuk Gwan Lam himself, becomes her sole purpose in life. Ringo exploits the trust Rachel has in him, also winning Cheuk Gwan Lam’s approval. Little do they know that Ringo is actually secretly conspiring with a team of talented people on the sly to steal trade secrets from large corporations for money. Ringo has been planning this for years, seeking the best opportunity to take destructive revenge on Endless Beauty.
Cheuk Gwan Lam returns to the car and tells Ah Sang he saw Ringo. He’s pretty sure he’s his son. He can’t figure out what Ringo’s motives are. All the thinking gives him an intensive headache and causes him to black out.
Ringo keeps digging but can’t find the time capsule.
At the hospital, Cheuk Gwan Lam’s doctor tells him the report from America has arrived. He has a stage 4 tumor in his brain and has about 4-13 months left to live. Surgery is not advised and treatments could only prolong his life by a bit. Cheuk Gwam Lam rejects the idea of the treatments and just ask his doctor to keep this as a secret.
As he and Ah Sang are leaving the hospital, they see Ding-Ye get admitted into the emergency room. Surgery is done but he’s still in a critical stage.
Cheuk Gwan Lam has a dream where he sees his first wife. He’s happy that she’s finally willing to visit him and asks if she’s still mad at him for leaving them behind – that’s why she’s never visited him in his dreams. She says she doesn’t know and leaves.
He wakes up and texts Rachel as Martin about his wife. She tells him it’s probably because there’s something he can’t let go of.
Rachel gives the okay to clear out Vincent’s office. She’s also gotten a lawyer to work on legally declaring Vincent dead in the court of law. Cheuk Gwan Lam asks if she’s sure about this and she is. She’s told Vincent goodbye already.
Everyone goes out to eat lunch together to welcome the new secretary – Chloe. One of the waiters come to take away Ringo’s empty cup. He then takes it out behind the kitchen in a plastic ziplock bag and gives it to Ah Sang.
Ringo gets frustrated because he wants to remake the key chain he made for his mom but he can’t remember how it looked like.
Rachel comes to visit and tells him that she’s letting Vincent go. She wants to ask him to help her break the news to her son. Ringo agrees.
The three of them go to play in an indoor playhouse. Ringo tells Mr. Hong to go over to his mom and take a break. Mr. Hong does and he receives a balloon sword from one of the workers there. He asks his mom to take a picture of him with it to send to his father.
She sits him down and tells him they won’t be sending messages to his father anymore. Mr. Hong takes it as his father’s coming home soon. Rachel falls silent and looks to Ringo for help. Ringo gently tells Mr. Hong that his father has gone to heaven.
Mr. Hong doesn’t believe his father is dead. He got a present from him at the park. Ringo apologizes and says he did it to make him happy. Mr. Hong loses it and runs away crying. Rachel and Ringo chases after him. They lose sight of him on the streets so they split up to look from Mr. Hong.
They find him climbing up the ledge of the mountain. Mr. Hong refuses to come down and cries for his father. Ringo tells him that he lost his father when he was young and he turned out fine and Mr. Hong will too. Finally, Mr. Hong agrees to come down and Ringo goes to help him.
At home, Mr. Hong makes sandwiches for Ringo and Rachel to eat as an apology for earlier today. Rachel promises not to lie to her son again but he has to promise not to run away like that again too. They agree and she gives him the necklace Vincent use to wear for him to wear and safe keep.
Back in his apartment, Ringo burns the pictures of Rachel and Vincent together. Flashback to when he was over at Rachel’s house when she was sick. He saw a picture of the couple and took a picture of it on his phone. He then went to a jeweler and showed him a picture of the necklace Vincent was wearing and asks if he could make one exactly like it. Afterwards, he gives the necklace and some money to an actor to help him put on the show in front of Rachel.
Cheuk Gwan Lam goes to visit Ding-Ye at the hospital and sees his sons arguing outside his hospital room about their father’s assets. After visiting Ding-Ye, he goes to see his own doctor. His doctor tells him potential treatments but Cheuk Gwan Lam refuses all of them and just wants some pain medication. His doctor warns him of all the side effects and symptoms this tumor is causing him and highly advises him to undergo the treatments. Cheuk Gwan Lam stands firm on his stance and asks his doctor and friend to respect his decision.
Cheuk Gwan Lam and Mani are celebrating the successful company acquisition with their board members. Everyone praises Mani for her hard work. Cheuk Gwan Lam asks them to take care of her in the future.
Ah Sang calls Cheuk Gwan Lam to tell him he sent him the DNA report. There’s a 99% match, confirming that Ringo is his son.
The next day, Cheuk Gwan Lam goes to see Ringo and asks him to go eat with him. Cheuk Gwan Lam orders an egg with green onions sandwich with the crusts cut off and Ringo asks him about it. Cheuk Gwan Lam tells him he really likes it.
Then he asks Ringo how’s work going for him. He tells him if he performs well, he’ll promote him to CEO. Ringo asks to think about it.
When they’re food arrives, Cheuk Gwan Lam talks about how this area used to be a park and how he used to bring his son here to play ball. Then he asks about Ringo’s life in the States. Ringo puts down money for his meal and excuses himself first.
Outside, he spots a father and son kicking a ball around and remembers when he got kidnapped. His kidnapper threatened Cheuk Gwan Lam to send the ransom money or else. Then it flashes to him visiting his mother in jail. She tells him to go with his uncle and he gets dragged out. In the next memory, his uncle is telling him his mother died and throws her stuff at him. Ringo later overhears his uncle wanting to sell his organs. He escapes through the window and faints in the middle of the forest under the hot sun.
Next memory he’s adopted by a new couple and they’re on their way to America.
Ringo is all grown up now and in university. A friend approaches him and congratulates him on the internship in Hong Kong. In Hong Kong, Ringo sees Cheuk Gwan Lam being happy with his new wife at an award show. He gets really mad and decides to deliver retribution to Cheuk Gwan Lam himself.
Ringo returns to the warehouse all irritated. He tells Yan Yan to continue her smearing campaign against Endless Beauty. He wants their name dragged through the mud.
Cyrus asks him what’s up but Ringo just deflects it. Then he gets a call from Amber. He hears her in a bar and trying to stop a fight between some guys. Cyrus immediately goes to check it out.
At the bar, he breaks it up and pushes Amber behind him. Cyrus recognizes the leader of the other group is Fo Jin. Since they know each other, Cyrus asks for him to forget the accident Amber’s friend caused as a favor. Fo Jin does so and then teases Cyrus about his “girlfriend”.
As Cyrus and Amber are walking home, she asks him how he knew she was there. He tells her about the phone call and she teases him that he really does care for her. Cyrus doesn’t answer. Then Amber asks about Fo Jin. Cyrus just tells her that he’s his old friend.
Cheuk Gwan Lam runs into Chin Wing Tong at an auction for car license plates. The two fight for a license plate with Chin Wing Tong determined to win over the plate Cheuk Gwan Lam wants. After Chin Wing Tong leaves, Cheuk Gwan Lam reveals he was just playing with the other. The real license plate he wanted to get for Mani is the next one – which includes her name in it.
Mani calls Cyrus out to meet her. She sees him approaching with the key chain she gave him on his backpack. She tells him she’s in a really good mood today and wants Cyrus to keep her company.
A little girl approaches Cyrus and likes the angel key chain he has. He goes to give it to her but Mani doesn’t want that and goes to give the little girl her key chain instead. Then he clears the air between them and clarifies that his concern for her isn’t anything more than platonic and he apologizes if there was any misunderstanding. He returns to her the key chain and leaves.
Cyrus calls Ringo out and tells him that he cleared the air with Mani. He doesn’t want to continue leading her on. Ringo gets pissed because Cyrus’s “supposed” relationship with Mani is part of the plan and everything needs to go perfectly. Cyrus refuses to continue the farce because it’s already pushing his moral boundaries. He doesn’t understand why this project is so important and wants to know who the payer behind this is. Ringo refuses to tell him. Cyrus turns around and walks away.
