After the deaths of his first and second wife, cosmetic mogul Cheuk Gwan Lam tries to turn over a new leaf. As fate would have it, he encounters a resourceful young man known as Ringo Poon, through whom he sees a younger version of himself. Cheuk Gwan Lam develops a familial attachment towards Ringo. The young man also wins the favor of Cheuk’s secretary Rachel Chan, who believes that Ringo would lead the company, Endless Beauty, to success. Rachel, still mourning over the disappearance of her husband Vincent many years ago, drowns herself with work. Endless Beauty, as well as Cheuk Gwan Lam himself, becomes her sole purpose in life. Ringo exploits the trust Rachel has in him, also winning Cheuk Gwan Lam’s approval. Little do they know that Ringo is actually secretly conspiring with a team of talented people on the sly to steal trade secrets from large corporations for money. Ringo has been planning this for years, seeking the best opportunity to take destructive revenge on Endless Beauty.
Ringo is at the warehouse briefing the team on what’s gonna go down the next day. Cheuk Gwan Lam is gonna have a press con announcing the successful acquisition of the company Ga Lai Loi. The reason he acquired this company is for their 3D spiral patent. What he doesn’t know is that the patent actually belongs to another company K3 and the two have refused to work together. If it wasn’t for Amber keeping the middleman quiet until now, the news would have broke out sooner.
At the press con, Cheuk Gwan Lam announces the acquisition and Mani tells everyone their plans to use the patent to create a new product.
Suddenly all the reporters receive a message. Then they ask if the patent really belongs to Endless Beauty.
A guy from the company K3 is telling reporters that the patent originally belonged to his company. Ga Lai Loi stole it from them to sell it to Endless Beauty. He’s planning on filing a lawsuit against Endless Beauty.
Cheuk Gwan Lam has a meeting with the CEO and the lawyer to figure out what’s going on. TC reports that Ga Lai Loi denies stealing it. They are also not getting involved since acquisition was completed. It’s not their problem anymore.
Immediate problems affecting their company is their stocks dropped, products aren’t selling, the banks forcing them to repay their loans ahead of the due date because of a pending lawsuit, and a potential hostile takeover.
Mani goes to see the CEO of K3 to try to talk it out but it doesn’t work and his lawyer threatens her with a harassment suit if she continues to badger them.
Cheuk Gwan Lam and Rachel goes around to see all his banker friends and no one is willing to loan his company any money due to their credit rating.
Cheuk Gwan Lam returns home later that night and suddenly throws up.
Rachel texts Martin to tell him that she’s completely letting go of her husband. She also thinks it’s best if they stop talking. Cheuk Gwan Lam tells her he needs her company the most right now because he has cancer. She thinks he’s joking but does believe him. He thanks her for being there for him.
Mani goes to the bar and gets pissed drunk. She calls Cyrus and he comes looking for her. He sees two guys trying to drag her somewhere and gets into a fight with them.
Cyrus checks her into the hospital and leaves after hearing her mutter his name in her sleep. Cheuk Gwan Lam sees Cyrus leaving. While he’s sitting by Mani’s bedside, he hears his daughter constantly calling out to Cyrus.
Cheuk Gwan Lam scolds her for irresponsibly drinking and getting so drunk. He’s highly disappointed with her.
He leaves with Ah Sang and asks him if Cyrus looks familiar. He remembers seeing him and Amber together on the streets. Cheuk Gwan Lam then asks Ah Sang to look into this guy.
RIngo gets really mad when he finds out someone recorded Cyrus getting into a fight and put it up online. Everyone else tries to calm Ringo’s anger but he’s still angry. He thinks Cyrus was being reckless and yells at him. Cyrus gets angry too and leaves. Amber goes after him.
Ringo is by himself staring at a coin.
Flashback to when he was in the UK (?), he’s asking someone for directions when he sees a homeless guy getting beat up for stealing something. Ringo goes to help him and the two end up fighting together. Homeless dude is Cyrus. Ringo takes him to his hotel room and feeds him. He tries to convince Cyrus to go back to Hong Kong to work with him. Cyrus refuses.
The next morning Cyrus disappears, leaving only a thank you note and a coin behind. Ringo goes and finds him at a church and they get into a fight. Ringo is determined to get Cyrus to go back with him. They bet on a coin flip and Ringo wins so Cyrus finally relents.
Ringo sends a text message to Cyrus apologizing. Cyrus is all smiles and rainbows now.
Cheuk Gwan Lam receives a phone call about someone who is willing to provide a loan to his company. They meet that night. After seeing the conditions for the loan, Cheuk Gwan Lam wants to think about it. He doesn’t like the idea of having two representatives from this company added on to their board members.
His friend Terry, vouches for this company providing the loan is trustable. Cheuk Gwan Lam is pressured into accepting since they may be his only chance to save the company.
In the end, he finally agrees.
Cheuk Gwan Lam goes to see Mani when he gets home. Mani wants to tell him she wants to resign. She feels terrible about the mistake this time and has just lost her will to do anything. Cheuk Gwan Lam tells her if she wants to make up for the mistake, she should show it through her future actions – not through resignation. She promises to not disappoint him anymore.
The next day at work, Cheuk Gwan Lam announces he got a loan for YGK company to solve their finance problem from acquiring Ga Lai Loi company. He also tells the board members that there will be new members representing YGK joining them.
The two new members enter and it’s Chin Wing Tong and Howard. Cheuk Gwan Lam is shocked and disturbed.
After the meeting Ah Sang reveals what he found out. After they signed with YGK, Terry received a huge business account. Also the money for the loan they got came from Chin Wing Tong. Cheuk Gwan Lam thinks Chin Wing Tong has been more careful with his actions lately. He suspects there’s someone working behind him pulling these stunts.
Cheuk Gwan Lam shares that he thinks there’s a mole in the company. He tells the others, everyone in this room (Rachel, Ah Sang, Mani, and Ringo) are people he trusts. Ringo asks if he wants them to look for the mole.
Later on, Ah Sang and Cheuk Gwan Lam are on the roof. Ah Sang wants to know why he told Ringo to look for the mole. Cheuk Gwan Lam explains that he wants Ringo to think he trusts him. While Ringo is working on diverting his suspicion to other people, he’ll have a higher chance of messing up and that’s when they’ll catch him.
Chin Wing Tong and Lok Yat Fan are celebrating their successful infiltration of Endless Beauty.
The next day Chin Wing Tong is chilling in Cheuk Gwan Lam’s office. Rachel comes to boot him out. He refuses to leave so Rachel goes to call security. This pisses Chin Wing Tong off and he’s about to strike her but Cheuk Gwan Lam intervenes at the right moment. Chin Wing Tong finally leaves.
Rachel thanks Cheuk Gwan Lam. All of a sudden though his leg feels funny. He tells Rachel he’s not seeing anyone today and goes into his office. Once the door closes he falls to the ground. His legs couldn’t hold him up anymore.
